I get it, Greg. While I was always aware of our shared disability of Cerebral Palsy, I grew up the only kid on/in the block/neighborhood/class full of the able-bodied, and didn’t every start to come to terms with that until my latter half of my teen years. And I’m still coming to terms with it, long after I thought I had a solid handle on the situation. Growth and learning are not always a linear process through time.
I can’t imagine coming to terms with both disability and sexuality in such a way as Mr. Marshall has, but he has done so with aplomb, humor and grace. This is a memoir worthy of reading, and that’s coming from someone not typically drawn to the genre.
