Just a Little Prick.

I had botox injections on Friday afternoon (for Cerebral Palsy-based spasticity, not wrinkles) – in each leg 25 units in the rectus femoris, 25 in the medial hamstrings, 20 in the lateral hamstrings, 15 in the soleus, and 15 in the lumbar paraspinals of the back.

While I can certainly say that injections directly into the hamstrings are not something I’d recommend for pleasure, the recovery thus far hasn’t been terrible. What is extremely weird, however, is the feeling of weakness and far less spasticity than I typically have. When one’s body has adapted to function in an atypical way for 49 years, the major lessening of that underlying atypical method is extremely odd.
